Horse Riding

Do you agree that after-school hours and weekends for your kids need to be educational, but never boring? In this case – think about horse riding! This activity is a perfect way to exercise muscles and coordination skills, and to learn responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship. Riding a horse means that the rider has to learn to communicate and appreciate another living being.

Situated in Bitsevsky Park – one of the most picturesque parts of the city. The complex offers riding on 8 outdoor fields with sand and grass, 2 covered riding halls, and treks on horseback to the nearby forest. There is a pony club for children from 6 to 10 years old: one 45-minute lesson with prior booking costs 280 rubles on weekdays and 330 rubles at weekends. Indoor lessons for children up to 16, cost 400 rubles on weekdays and 500 rubles on weekends. A package of 8 lessons per month cost 2,800 rubles. Four group lessons per month (up to 7 kids) cost 1,800 rubles. One hippotherapy (therapeutic riding) session costs 350 rubles; prior booking only. There are many other different groups and lessons. Elf Equistrian Club

Groups are organized starting from September, for children from 11 years old. Monthly subscription costs 800 rubles and includes 2 lessons per week. Lessons are held in a riding hall or outside training ground.

Research and Art Museum of Horse Breeding

This museum features paintings of many Russian animalists and military artists, as well as the works of Serov, Vrubel, Polenov, Surikov. The museum has 3500 paintings, graphic work, sculptures and examples of applied art, video and photo resources, thematic stamp collections, cards, envelopes, badges and souvenirs. The museum’s library houses books and magazines on horse breeding, and including unique folios from 16th-18th centuries.

Czar Horse Exhibition at the State Historical Museum
presents paintings of royal horsemen of the 18th and 19th centuries and items of decorative and applied arts. The exposition features works of Nikolay Sverchkov (1817-1898), a well-known Russian horse painter.
