Out and About

Return to Enchantment is 10th Year Theme!

The International Women’s Club’s smashingly successful and biggest event of the year – The Embassies of the World Dinner & Ball – was held on February 10th. This was the 10th Anniversary Ball, with much glitter and glamour spread across Moscow, as more than 700 expatriots dined at over 30 Embassies and Ambassadors’ residences around the city. National dishes of the host countries were served to guests gathering for dinners and cocktails hosted by Ambassadors, Consul Generals and their gracious wives.

The current President of the IWC, Mrs. Birgit von Canisius, the spouse of the Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, presided over the Ball that began at 10:30 PM at the Bulgarian Embassy on Mosfilmovskaya The grand halls of the Bulgarian Embassy were lit with chandeliers, bands, and entertainment by professional ballroom dancers and the Tony Watkins and the Smokebreakers band.

We hear the last guests left after 4.00 AM!

We also hear that over $100,000 was raised for the IWC’s special charities, that include orphanages, hospitals, the elderly, the disabled and many other groups in need in Russia. Now this is an NGO organization that knows how to raise a buck!

Congratulations to a job well done, IWC!
