Yoga Moves Moscow
By Natalia Shuvalova
Photos by Maxim Gribanov and Miguel Rivera

Kali Ray, world famous yoga teacher from Malibu, CA, taught a Tri Yoga workshop in Moscow in August. Several decades ago, Russians would have been taken to prison for attending such an event. Kali Ray was among the very first yoga teachers who took the risk of coming to Russia in the early nineties. Today, her schedule is very busy: she travels all over the world, visiting about 18 countries a year with her workshops, lectures and music. She is regularly invited as a keynote speaker for International Yoga Conferences. Nonetheless, she always finds time for Moscow. Her programs are full, with a long waiting list. In between classes, she was filmed for the Domashny (Home) Channel, teaching Tri Yoga to Nalalia Bystrova, the musical “Mamma Mia” star. Now Natalia wants it to be part of their daily training at the theater.
